Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Health Options Guide (healthoptionsguide.com and its subdomains, such as trials.healthoptionsguide.com) collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The site is operated by Premium Traffic Limited ("we", "us").
In short: we never ask for your name, email address or phone number. We use your answers to show relevant information on the page. We don't send your health answers to advertising platforms, and we don't sell them.
What we collect
Answers you give us
Our tools ask a few questions, such as a health topic you're interested in, an age range, your sex, whether you have children under 18, and your ZIP code. Your answers are used in your browser to choose what to show you.
Usage information
When you use the site, we record events such as which steps you completed and which links you clicked, along with a random visit ID. These records may include your answers in summary form (for example, the topic you chose and an age range), and only the first three digits of your ZIP code. We use them to understand which pages and versions work best.
Device and advertising information
Like most websites, we and our service providers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type and the page that referred you. If you arrived from an ad, the link may include ad identifiers (for example, an ad ID or Meta click ID).
How we use information
- To run the site and show you relevant information, studies and offers.
- To measure and improve the site, including comparing different versions.
- To measure how our ads perform.
- To keep the site secure and prevent misuse.
- To respond to messages you send us.
Who we share information with
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Meta (Facebook) | That a page was viewed or a step completed, the step number, your IP address, browser details, cookie IDs and click IDs. Not your health topic, age, sex or ZIP code. | To measure and improve our ads |
| ClinicalTrials.gov (U.S. National Library of Medicine) | The health topic you chose and the approximate location of your ZIP code, sent from your browser when we search for studies | To find studies near you |
| Zippopotam.us | Your ZIP code, sent from your browser | To check that the ZIP code is valid and find its location |
| Search and offer partners | When you click a guide, search result or offer, you go to a partner's site. The link includes the topic and search terms for that page, plus ad and click IDs. Their own privacy policies apply. | To show you the page you chose, and so we can be paid |
| Service providers | Information needed to host the site, store usage records and send email (for example, Cloudflare and our workflow tools) | To run the site |
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of our business.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel, to measure visits and ad performance. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.
Your choices and rights
Using the Meta Pixel to measure ads may count as "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising under some U.S. state laws. To opt out:
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. We honor it as an opt-out.
- Or email hello@healthoptionsguide.com with the subject "Opt out".
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to withdraw consent. Because we don't collect names or contact details, we may need information from you (such as the date and approximate time of your visit) to find your records. Email us to make a request. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
Health information
Some of your answers relate to health. We use them only to show relevant content and to measure the site, keep them out of advertising platforms, and don't sell them. Residents of Washington, Nevada and other states with consumer health data laws can use the rights above, and can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
How long we keep information
We keep usage records for up to 24 months, then delete or anonymise them. Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to respond and for our records.
Children
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has used the site, contact us and we'll delete what we can find.
Security and international transfers
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
